Nomad Week 2025: When Community Turns Dreams Into Reality

Sometimes the simplest ideas spark something extraordinary.
That’s the story of Nomad Week 2025.

It all started with a vision: create space for attendees to gather over shared interests through casual lunch and dinner meetups — a way for people to engage beyond the conference. Straightforward. Easy.

Apparently, the community had bigger plans — driven by the enthusiasm of Nomad Summit attendees, Nomad Week quickly took on a life of its own. Within weeks of planning, it evolved into a vibrant playground of possibilities for connection, knowledge sharing, and community building.

The very first event was fully booked in under 48 hours, and the momentum only grew from there. We genuinely tried to close side event sign-ups multiple times, but every time we did, more people submitted their ideas — and it was impossible to say no. Each new event added something unique to the week, so we just kept going. The last event was added just two days before the week ended — a testament to how dynamic this experiment became.

The Numbers That Tell Our Story

By the time the week wrapped up, we had:

✅ 56 events
🎟 1,653 tickets distributed
👥 452 participants
📍 32 venues all across Chiang Mai
🎤 20+ workshops
🤝 15+ social activities
🎉 4 parties
🎲 15+ wild card events from ice baths to coffee tastings

A Platform for Community & Connection

What made Nomad Week so special was its ability to create value for everyone — on different levels and in different ways.

🌍 For attendees: It extended the experience beyond the weekend, giving attendees more time to connect, collaborate, and form lasting friendships.
🚀 For non-attendees: It offered a way to tap into the energy of Nomad Summit without a full commitment — allowing more people to join talks, network, and gain value from the events.
🏙 For Chiang Mai newcomers: By hosting events in 32 different venues around the city, we made sure people didn’t just stay in one hotel but got a real taste of Chiang Mai’s diverse spaces and hidden gems.
💡 For local community: We strengthened the connection between Thai locals and the digital nomad community, particularly through the Buildathon, which brought both groups together to collaborate on impactful projects.

Nomad Week became a space for real conversations, shared experiences, and moments of genuine inspiration. Doris Dario, who hosted three workshops, beautifully summed up the spirit of the week:

Doris Dario, Speaker at the Nomad Summit in Chiang Mai in January 2025

“Nomad Week was an absolute blast. A group of adventurous, curious minds from all over the world came together — not just to network, but to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and support each other in building lives of freedom, purpose, and adventure.

The energy was contagious, and the connections made felt meaningful beyond just another event. The feedback from my workshops was incredible — it showed how much people resonate with the idea of not just chasing success, but creating a life that is truly sustainable and fulfilling. When we stop rushing and start looking inwards, that’s when the real magic happens — both in life and business.”

The Impact: Learning, Growth & Choosing Your Environment

Nomad Week was filled with amazing events, from deep-dive discussions on entrepreneurship and goal-setting to networking and practical skill-building sessions. But beyond the workshops and talks, what truly made the week special was the people — the energy, the shared mindset, and the unexpected connections that sparked along the way.

Maximilian Lemke, who hosted the Productivity Accelerator workshop, put it best:

“The number of interesting people I met was incredible. When you gather more than 200 people who share a similar mindset, the chances of meeting someone who becomes a long-term friend or helps your business skyrocket are 99.99%.”

Stella Schneider, who led a strategy workshop on goal-setting, reflected on how crucial it is to be intentional about your environment:

“I’m a big fan of choosing your environment based on your vision of who you want to be. Being surrounded by inspiring people who are on a similar journey makes all the difference. I loved the combination of the Summit and Nomad Week — it was the perfect balance of structured learning and free-flowing networking. Hosting a session was an amazing experience, but I also gained so much from attending other events and meeting people I wouldn’t have crossed paths with otherwise.”

Giving Back: A Collective Contribution

Beyond learning and connection, Nomad Week also became an opportunity to give back to the local community.

After the event, we gave all side event hosts the option to donate their earnings to charity, with Nomad Summit matching every donation. In total, 23 payments were donated, amounting to $737, which we rounded up to 25,000 THB and donated to FERC Thailand — an organization that helps disadvantaged Thai children in Northern Thailand complete high school.

Looking Ahead

Nomad Week 2025 was more than we ever imagined — a spontaneous idea that became a core part of the Nomad Summit experience. It brought people together, bridged communities, and created an atmosphere of collaboration, learning, and fun that extended far beyond the main conference. It proved that when you give passionate people a platform to share, learn, and grow together, magic happens.

The success of Nomad Week 2025 sets a new standard for what’s possible when we come together as a community. To everyone who participated, hosted events, and helped shape this incredible week — thank you.
