Mariam Navasardyan

Communications Strategist, Community Builder, Advocate for Mobility Justice

Mariam Navasardyan is a dynamic communications professional and storyteller who thrives at the intersection of local identity and global citizenship. Based in Yerevan, Armenia, she is currently the Partnerships and Social Media Manager at Nomad Armenia, a platform that aims to put Armenia on the map as a welcoming destination for remote workers and digital nomads. Through her work, she highlights the country’s natural beauty, deep cultural heritage, and growing ecosystem for location-independent professionals.

Mariam brings a decade of experience working with NGOs, institutions, and creative teams across Europe. She specializes in developing community-focused narratives, social media campaigns, and cross-cultural partnerships that elevate underrepresented voices. Whether she’s organizing nomad meetups or designing digital content strategies, her goal is to create spaces—both online and offline—where people feel seen and connected.

In Episode 10 of the Nomad Summit Podcast, Mariam spoke powerfully about the emotional and logistical challenges of traveling with a “weak passport.” As an Armenian citizen, she shared how visa applications often come with uncertainty, high financial costs, and frequent rejections—even when all documents are in order. Her story underscores the invisible barriers many nomads face due to global inequalities in mobility.

Mariam also contributed deeply to the conversation around education, parenting, and identity. She questioned the relevance of traditional school systems in today’s fast-changing world and reflected on how childhood experiences shape who we become. Her thoughtful and grounded perspective added nuance to a discussion often dominated by privilege and idealism.

Driven by empathy, equity, and a love for cultural exchange, Mariam continues to advocate for more inclusive narratives within the global nomad movement.
