Valeria Pitiakova

Founder of the Nomad Magazine

Valeria “Lera” Pitiakova is a seasoned project manager, certified Scrum Master, and digital nomad storyteller. With over 15 years in project leadership and nearly a decade spent working across remote, multicultural teams, she has honed her ability to bridge creative vision and operational execution. At MediaLab 3D Solutions she oversees technical and content initiatives, applying her expertise in digital content creation, app development, and 3D visualization to deliver compelling brand experiences.

Beyond her professional role in tech, Lera is the driving force behind Nomad Magazine (previously branded Nomad Gossip Magazine), a print-and-digital publication dedicated to capturing the realities, insights, and stories of the digital nomad lifestyle.

Having lived nomadically herself since around 2015 and traversed more than 50 countries, she brings first-hand experience to her editorial vision. Under her leadership, the magazine emphasizes authentic narratives, high design standards, minimal advertising, and thoughtful curation of content that resonates with the global nomad community.

Lera’s journey to becoming a nomad publisher was not accidental:
She transitioned years ago from more traditional roles (including work in marketing and operations) into a life of travel, community building, and storytelling. She is deeply engaged in nomad networks – having participated in multiple Nomad Cruise and NomadBase events – and rooted herself for a time in Madeira, Portugal, as a creative hub.
Through Nomad Magazine, she continues to elevate and support the evolving nomad movement, offering a platform for voices, ideas, and reflections that might otherwise remain untold.

Lera and her Nomad Magazine have been strong partners of the relaunch of Nomad Summit. Listen to her full story in the Nomad Summit Podcast Episode 21.
